Portugal D7 visa timeline 2025
Has anyone recently applied for the Portugal D7 visa? I'm curious about current processing times.
I submitted my application at the SF consulate in November and haven't heard back yet. The consulate website says 60-90 days but I've read reports of it taking much longer.
Would love to hear recent experiences!

I applied in late October at the LA consulate and got my approval last week - so about 10 weeks total.
The key things that seemed to help:
- Having all documents apostilled ahead of time
- Bank statements showing 12 months of income
- A clear cover letter explaining my situation

SF consulate seems to be slower than others. I've heard 4-5 months is common there. You might want to call and check on the status.
Can confirm - I waited 5 months at SF. It was frustrating but eventually came through.

Based on recent data, SF is averaging 14-16 weeks. LA and NY are faster at 8-10 weeks.
